Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. (AL I:40)
I am a Thelemite, writer and practitioner from Russia. This blog is where I write about Thelema, Aleister Crowley, Qabalah, yoga and the Western esoteric tradition, and where I translate rare Thelemic texts into Russian.
Most of the site is in Russian. Your browser can translate it, and quotations from Crowley and Liber AL vel Legis are kept in the original English, so nothing essential is lost.
What you’ll find here
Ascent of the Tree. A walk up the Tree of Life from Malkuth to Kether, one Sephirah at a time: correspondences, colours, paths and practice.
Rare finds from The Equinox. Little-known material from The Equinox, Vol. I, with commentary.
Translations. Russian translations of texts by Crowley and his circle, including Marcelo Motta and Frater Achad (Charles Stansfeld Jones).
Notes from practice. Yoga, ritual and the daily work of a Thelemite.
A Russian perspective
Crowley wrote Liber XV, the Gnostic Mass, in Moscow in 1913. Thelema and Russia share a longer story than most people think, and I want to tell it.
Start here
- What you need to know to understand Thelema (in Russian): a map of the background Thelema takes for granted, from religious studies and the humanities to occultism. The best first step for a serious newcomer.
- The Equinox, Vol. I (1909–1913): an issue-by-issue inventory (in Russian): what Crowley published in each of the ten numbers, and who wrote it. Most of this corpus has never appeared in Russian.
- Marcelo Motta on astral attack and defence (in Russian): the hub of my chapter-by-chapter translation of Motta’s practical manual on psychic attack, with his notes translated in full.
